Rond 1953 werd in Nederland een spraakmakende uitvinding gedaan. Jan Bosman vond een machine uit waarmee hennep, sisal en kokosvezels verwerkt werden tot kamerbreed tapijt.

Vanuit deze uitvinding vonden ook de hedendaagse wollen tapijten hun oorsprong en werd Jabo bekend en beroemd.

Het merk Jabo werd zo bekend, dat sisal geen sisal meer werd genoemd. Je ging naar de plaatselijke woninginrichter en kocht Jabo.

Een herinnering die nostalgisch genoemd kan worden. Ook een herinnering die bij velen nog springlevend is.

Today, Jabo is alive and kicking. An independent company with a healthy collection of carpets and rugs. And a well-oiled organization in the background, providing a constant stream of development and innovation.

Together with the other well-known brand Van Besouw, Jabo has remained a stable factor in a rapidly changing market.
